Your birth data stays yours.

Who we are
Undersky is operated by Tomer N. Marketing and Sales Ltd, an Israeli company (company no. 516555604), of 6 HaTapuach Street, Beit Shemesh 9955606, Israel. For the purposes of privacy law, we are the controller of any personal data described on this page. You can reach us about anything here at hello@undersky.me.
The short version
The birth chart calculator runs entirely in your browser. When you compute a chart, your birth date, time, and place are not sent to our servers — the astronomy happens on your device. One narrow exception: as you type a birthplace, the letters you have typed so far are sent to our own server to suggest matching towns. That text travels in the body of the request — never in a web address — so it does not appear in the operational request logs our hosting provider keeps, and we never write it to a database or connect it to you. To answer repeat lookups faster, the normalized text of a query and its town results may sit in our host's edge cache for up to 24 hours — keyed by the text alone, with nothing about who asked. To carry your most recently computed chart between pages, your browser keeps the full chart input — and the optional name you typed beside it — in local storage until another chart replaces it or you clear this site's data; the name leaves your device only if you buy a reading, to be printed on its cover. Chart links you create encode the birth details in the link itself; share them only with people you'd share the chart with.
What we collect
- No server-side birth data for the free calculator. We do not receive the birth details you enter. Birthplace autocomplete queries are sent in the request body (not the URL) and are never written to a database or linked to you; the normalized query text and its results may be cached at the edge for up to 24 hours so repeat lookups answer instantly, keyed by the text alone. To keep the lookup service healthy we rate-limit it with a short-lived counter derived from a rotating keyed hash of your IP address — IPv6 addresses are first reduced to their network prefix, the address itself is not stored, and expired counters are deleted. Your device stores the most recent chart input, and the optional name you typed, locally as described above; clearing Undersky's site data removes both.
- Aggregate analytics. We measure page views and performance with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless service run by our host: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and doesn't fingerprint you or follow you across sites. We see counts — which pages, how fast — never profiles.
- Purchase details, when you buy a reading. Payment is handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record for our orders, under its own privacy policy; we receive your email address, a record of the transaction, the birth details you submit for interpretation — the only moment birth data leaves your browser, and it happens when you click through to checkout — and, if you gave one, the name to print on the reading's cover. A checkout that is not completed is automatically deleted from our database within 25 hours, which is the life of the checkout page itself plus an hour. For a completed purchase, we keep the order record, birth details, generated prose, and finished reading so your license key can re-download the same book; write to us to have the reading data deleted. Your own browser holds one cookie for the order while it is live, described under Cookies below. The license key itself we never keep — only a one-way hash of it, enough to recognize yours and not enough to reproduce it. We never see or store card numbers.
- Anything you email us. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to help you.
How we use it
We use purchase data to generate and deliver the reading you bought, to keep the transaction records the law requires of us, and to answer you when you write in. We'll only send you marketing email if you explicitly asked for it, and every such email will have a working unsubscribe link.
What we never do
- Sell or share your birth data or email with third parties for marketing.
- Use your chart data to train models without explicit consent.
- Pretend a horoscope needs your phone contacts.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers needed to run the product: our payment merchant of record, Dodo Payments (which handles your card, receipt, and license key under its own privacy policy); Cloudflare (which hosts the site, order database, queues, and private PDF storage); and OpenAI (which receives the purchased birth details and computed chart dossier to generate the personalized prose — never the cover name, which is used only in our own rendering). Under OpenAI'sAPI data controls, API data is not used to train or improve its models unless we explicitly opt in; default abuse-monitoring logs may retain content for up to 30 days. We may also disclose data if a court or law properly requires it. Each provider receives only what it needs to do its job. We do not sell personal data, and never have.
How long we keep it
Unfinished checkout records are deleted within 25 hours. Transaction records are kept as long as Israeli tax and bookkeeping law requires. The chart data and generated files behind a purchased reading remain available for license-key re-download until you ask us to delete them; we will remove them unless a law requires a limited transaction record to remain. The free calculator's local browser copy remains until it is replaced or you clear Undersky's site data.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, or hand it over in a portable format, and object to any use of it. These rights exist under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, and we honor the equivalent rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar laws for visitors elsewhere. Write to hello@undersky.me and we'll answer promptly — normally within 30 days.
Where data lives
We're an Israeli company using international infrastructure, so data may be processed outside your country. Israel holds an EU adequacy decision, and we choose providers that offer recognized safeguards for international transfers.
Cookies
One cookie exists, and only if you buy a reading. Opening your order page from the checkout return or your receipt email trades the order id in that link for a signed cookie, so the id stops travelling in addresses and browser history. All it says is that this browser is the one that placed this order. Your browser hands it back to us and no script on the page can read it, it travels only over HTTPS, it expires within a day, and each order gets its own — so two purchases open in two tabs stay separate rather than overwriting each other. Clearing this site's data removes it, and the license key in your receipt email re-downloads the book either way.
Nothing else sets one: not the calculator, not the writing, not our analytics. If we ever add a preference cookie (like a saved house-system choice), it will live on your device and describe itself honestly.
Children
Undersky isn't directed at children, and purchases require you to be old enough to form a contract where you live. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has sent us some, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and its date. We won't quietly weaken a promise made here.
