Uranus and Neptune held the same degree of Capricorn from one end of that day to the other, both of them somewhere between twenty and twenty-one degrees of the sign. Uranus lost two arcminutes across it, 20°51′ back to 20°49′, and Neptune one, 20°11′ to 20°10′.
A conjunction held inside one numbered degree is partile in the older terminology, and it was reckoned to count for more than a conjunction merely inside orb. This one measured 0°39′ at the closest hour of the day and 0°40′ at the loosest. Both planets were retrograde, as were Saturn and Pluto, four of the ten classical planets going backwards at once.
Venus is the fast body that reaches them. It ran 19°34′ to 20°36′ Taurus in those same hours, arriving by the end of them in the matching degree of an Earth sign a third of the circle away, and its trine to Neptune passed through exact somewhere in between: 0°00′ at one hour and 0°38′ at the far edge of the day. Venus is in Taurus, a sign it rules, and it is the only body in that figure an unrecorded hour can move at all.

Waxing Crescent to First Quarter
Read from the day’s range; the exact face depends on the hour.
The ten classical planets, weighed by element and modality. Only sign-certain placements are counted; one planet shifts signs that day and could join more than one group.
Aspects are the working relationships in a chart, listed tightest first. A smaller orb is a stronger contact. Contacts marked "part of the day" depend on the unknown birth time.
Squares and oppositions: friction that makes the engine turn.
Trines and sextiles: what runs easily, sometimes too easily.
Conjunctions: planets standing so close they act as one.
The astrologer’s aspectarian: each glyph on the stair names its row and its column. Hover any symbol for the contact in words.

Without a birth time there is no Ascendant, so houses here are whole signs counted from the Sun: the standard solar chart astrologers use when the clock is unknown.
