The Sun’s limit was different in 1879. The obliquity of the ecliptic, the tilt that decides how far north and south the Sun can reach, was 23.46° on this date and is very slightly smaller now, shrinking by roughly a hundredth of a degree each century. Out-of-bounds judgments here are measured against the value for the date itself, and this chart gets that one.

The Moon was out of bounds against it, at 26.36° south of the celestial equator, 2.90° beyond the line. The verdict would be the same on a modern number, but the arithmetic is done with the one that was true at the time.

Four classical planets share the tenth house: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn, with three of the four in Aries. The chart also carries a yod, two quincunxes converging from Mercury and the North Node onto Uranus. That figure is only computed when a birth time is on record. Neptune, at 7°52′ Taurus, is unaspected, and sits out the whole arrangement.
